How to find Baby Yoda on Google AR

Augmented animals have always been hidden on Google Search, and last year we came up with the full list of the animals you can find simple by typing in their names and pressing ”see in your space”

Well the have done it again. This time they have added Baby Yoda, The Child or Grogu to their collection of FREE AR ( Augmented reality experiences).

To see Baby Yoda in AR simply type in Baby Yoda, The Child or of course, Grogu into google and follow the instructions: Press see in your space and see in 3d to view and a far too cute Baby Yoda will appear where ever you point your phone.

We put him on next to our Christmas Tree as due to Covid and sales there is no chance of us being able to pick up a toy one any time soon!

You can’t interact as of yet, but you can set the size and move him around the screen so he fits and looks, i guess, more natural.

We made a very quick video here so you can see what it looks like. We though he would be happy near our Christmas tree!

This AR experience follows on from the animals that google has hidden in AR into the search engine which we wrote about here, and will link to.

If you are looking for a Christmas gift to send to students ( we are a teaching site after all) then why not point this out to them, along with the AR animals google has. It will provide at least minutes of fun for them.

Here is the list to save you clicking through again. The same rules apply, just search for these on your mobile or tablet on Google and then press see in my space.

  • Lion
  • Tiger
  • Cheetah
  • Shark
  • Hedgehog
  • Duck
  • Emperor penguin
  • Wolf
  • Angler fish
  • Goat
  • Rottweiler
  • Snakes
  • Eagle
  • Brown bear
  • Alligator
  • Horse
  • Shetland pony
  • Macaw
  • Pug
  • Turtle
  • Cat
  • Octopus
  • Dog
  • Labrador
  • Golden Retriever
  • leopard
  • golden eagle

As of last week Google added about 50 more animals to this list but its up to us to find them . If you find any please leave a comment so we can try to be the first to find them all! We have a Full list here with all the ones we have found so feel free to head over there and add to it.

The same rules apply regarding technology meaning you are going to need Android 7, or IOS 11 or higher to make these work. It is likely most of the world has these now.

So if your students are at home at the moment, or your children are asking for a pet for Christmas, why not give them a Baby Yoda, or one of the 100s of animals you can recreate in your homes with AR and Google.

About Making English Funn

Hi I’m Marc. A teacher of over 15 years, English, General Studies and Outdoor Education. Thought it was about time to sharing both what I have learnt during that time and the resources I have put together. On this site we aim to teach the theory and share our thoughts, but also go that one step further and give you access to the hard resources you need for your class or for you children

I have been a teacher of English for over 15 years, in that time i made hundreds and thousands of resources and learnt so much i think its worth sharing. Hopefully to help teachers and parents around the world.
