This is a whole class activity that can be done in groups or pairs. I love doing this as its a real chance for students to engage with their work and for the teacher to target help where it is needed. A self directed learning win!!
Students are given a board and the job/description and have to match the description to the job and glue it to the board. They go horizontal across the top and the bottom and vertically along the sides. To make a frame around the centre.
Now the job pictures are printed on A4 but the page they use to stick them on has to be A3 so that they fit around the outside!
When you ( or the students) cut out the dominoes make sure there is a picture AND a description on the domino ( dominoes have two sides) The description should not match the job on the domino. There is a rubric to look at to help
Make sure the students know how to glue them as sometimes they will stick them all at the top. You can use page three on the PowerPoint as a rubric for this to show them what you are looking for, or if you want you can make one first!
Once they have finished, they can complete the centre part of the board and describe the job they would like to do and what jobs they can see. They, of course, can choose any job they like!
I have purposefully put in the job names, and tried to use ones that are known to younger learners in this version. If you wish to edit to suit your students there is the option to buy that one for a dollar as well in the shop.
I have put examples in the file so it will be clearer!! I hope 😛
Most of resources can be premium downloaded below, they are all editable so you can adapt them for your, classes, students and schools. It also helps me with the costs of running the website!
