Phonics Onset and Rime Fishing for Phonics worksheets

A set of seven FREE Phonics Onset and Rime Worksheets. All with cute pictures and a colouring activity.

Students have to look for words and read the code to decide what colour to colour the fish according to this code. I have included seven different rimes for teachers to use and of course on this page are free.

What is included

There are seven different rimes, and i will make more phonic ones in due course.

So you have three Activities or worksheets for different levels all you need is a dice!

These worksheets are designed to help students either in pairs or individually practice speaking. This is useful as it can be a self directed activity, and will keep them interested.

Why teach phonics

Teaching Phonics this skill is the next step from single sound recognition and these tasks help students get skilled in blending the sounds together to make new words. there are five here, and i am in the process of making another set as well

If you need to change the words or images then i will put an editable version in the store, there are a few different phonic and vocabulary worksheets and activities in there. check the links at the bottom if you are interested.

Phonics are a increasingly popular skills for students to learn and these activities and other phonics worksheets, games and apps will go some way to addressing those needs for students.
