Free Action Word Worksheets

Actions verbs are a mainstay of every language teachers curriculum. They are great to teach and children really benefit from being taught them using varied activities. However, one of those activities we use to consolidate or cool them down after all the actions, is the humble worksheet.

Children need to learn a mixture of grammar and phonics to learn to talk. Verbs, and in particular Action Verbs, are incredibly important part of this. The ability to be able to communicate their actions and what they want or have been doing is a huge motivator for younger learners. As they start to form sentences they will naturally acquire vocabulary, there are ways to develop these skills more effectively.

Here we have 4 Samples for free, four of the good ones! and a pack of 13 for just $2.49. (We have costs running a site this big now!!) both are linked to below.

We have also a huge guide on activities, resources and games you can play on the site as well. It is certain to have something new you haven’t heard of before! You can check it out here. Verbs allow sentence construction and children can express themselves in more and more detail as there vocabulary, including verb usage develops.

Why Are Verbs Important?

A recent study has shown that 2 year olds who are able to develop an active usage of verbs are likely to also develop more language and grammatical skills just six months later. They enable younger learners to express what they have been doing and what they want to do. It enables them to start forming Coherent sentences and improving communication skills.

As you will have noticed most of our English resources are free, and we are fully aware that a lot of teachers cant afford to buy everything they need for their classrooms. We are in that position as well. So if you want to help us out the best way to do so is to share us with your teaching friends or with parents.

About Making English Funn

Hi I’m Marc. A teacher of over 15 years, English, General Studies and Outdoor Education. Thought it was about time to sharing both what I have learnt during that time and the resources I have put together. On this site we aim to teach the theory and share our thoughts, but also go that one step further and give you access to the hard resources you need for your class or for you children

I have been a teacher of English for over 15 years, in that time i made hundreds and thousands of resources and learnt so much i think its worth sharing. Hopefully to help teachers and parents around the world.
