I have , Who Has Printable Game – Phonics
I have who has is a simple but fun and effective game for all ages of students. it is both a speaking and listening exercise which makes it great for teaching English.
This contains all four games and a template so you can make your own.
Simple game that encourages listening, reading and speaking in your English classroom
We have full instructions below, both in the video and in written form to help you play this game. Although it is fairly straightforward a game to play.
it may be worth bringing out the laminator to give these cards a little more shelf life as students to get over excited playing I have, who has and paper doesn’t last long.
Instructions to on How to play I have, Who has:
- First give out at least one card to every students, they can have more than one but have to have at least one.
- Keep one for yourself so you can start the game ( at least if they have never played this before)
- What ever card you have stand up and say “i have XXXX, who has XXX” ( whatever word, sound or letter is one your card)
- Then who ever has the second word sound or letter should stand up and say I have XXX, who has XXX)
- then the game progresses, hopefully, around the class.
- The I have, Who has game will end when it comes back to you, and you can continue or change the cards between students.
This game is great for listening ( and there are precious few of those English games) as students are required to listen to everyone in case their word, sound or letter is said. It really helps with concentration and listening skills, and as well as being lots of fun is why we use this game a lot in our English Classrooms.
The I have, who has, powerpoint is both downloadable and editable so it can be changed depending on the subject and the level of students being taught. We, as we are an English site have gone for English themes and this is I have, who has for phonics.
We have included the following Phonics in the I have Who Has, game, all able to be printed and downloaded: these Include the following.
- Alphabet letters
- Digraphs
- blends
- CVC words
- Magic E words
- and all come with images / or just words ( if needed)
of course you have the option to edit the game cards as you need for your own teaching / Home environment but these option mean you can try them out and see if they fit before remodelling them for yourself.
