These worksheets ask students to recognise images and words, so if the words are to specialised it could be played as a sound recognition exercise and the teacher could read the word to help the students listen and then circle.
If you need to change the words or images then i will put an editable version in the store, there are a few different phonic and vocabulary worksheets and activities in there. check the links at the bottom if you are interested.
There are also other worksheets on this site for phonics and short and long vowels as well. Feel free to check them out. I also keep my editable resources in the shop on here as well.

I have made these for my students. Guided and leveled readers can be really really expensive so I thought putting some packs of leveled readers might be helpful to teachers out there. These reading passages are leveled using the SMOG and Flesch Kincaid Grade Level. As with all things this is dependent on the background, prior knowledge and reading level of your students. Some will find it easier some will find it more difficult. So they are designed for you to use your professional judgement
In this pack there are five readers that have been leveled using the above systems at Grade 3 and one at Grade 3/4
They can be used as part of general lessons or as part of a Guided reading programme ( which is what i am going to try to build up here) A set of reading cards for schools to be able to target reading levels for their students and implement a cost saving reading system to help them better cater for learner diversity.
The phonics resources on this site also go well with this and they are also available in both free and editable versions

I used something similar to these in my class for a few years now and i thought with the images i have now i can make them more student friendly. So that’s what i have done.
A set of five worksheets allowing students to easily become familiar with digraphs. The ones included here are SH – WH – CH – PH – TH. These are best taught through listening and speaking exercise so this worksheet could also be used as a bingo type activity or one the white board ( if you have access to one) but of course they work equally well as a worksheet as well
There are five different worksheets here all the same idea, and i am also putting ones for blends and other digraphs, trigraphs and other phonic rules. this however is the first so give me a little time 🙂

I used something similar to these in my class for a few years now and i thought with the images i have now i can make them more student friendly. So that’s what i have done.
The vowel worksheet i used to use was just one worksheet so i thought i could split that quite nicely into 6 vowel worksheets for A, E, I , O and U and then have one mixed for all the vowels.
That is what is in this file. 6 worksheets for you to help consolidate and teach the difference between long and short vowels.
Long vowels can be tricky to teach, so practice in recognizing the difference between long and short vowel sounds is a good way to help students get used to sounds.

A tried and tested method of allowing students to practice their vocabulary and great as supplementary work to a topic. 7 different crosswords for you to use in class.
I have included 7 individual crossword worksheets here and the editable version means you can resize them or cover the answer keys, which are included at the bottom of the page
They are designed for younger learners but if you remove those answers it gets much more difficult!
This should make it easier for teachers and home schoolers. I have put them on A5 if you need them smaller, if you want them as A4 then they can be resized. I wanted to try to save paper and resources and i think they are big enough.
