A set of lovely pictures and letters to help young learners with learning both the names and the sounds of English. There are a few versions, but all use the base image which has cute pictures all beginning with that sound or letter around it.
I have made them to fit on A5 ( so two per piece of A4 paper) if you need different sizes i will make a few different sets and these could be used as cards or even as posters on your classroom or home walls.
Check out the other versions which are designed as worksheets and students have to think of any words they can that start with that letter ( although you could also do the phonetic sounds as well) these are both available as free and as editable if you need. Prepositions are always a favourite subject of mine to teach, there are so many activities to do both interactive and written. I have been using for a while a set of worksheets that were starting to look more than a little dated. They were still very good, but they needed to be dragged into the 21st century so I decided to remake them.
I usually use them after introducing the song above, its not mine as i can’t sing! I love to sing, unfortunately i have the voice of a hippo so most people ask me to stop !
I also do activities where i ask the students to read a sentence and then come and do the action. So for example “”put the pencil on the chair, put the hat under the desk” so they have some movement in the lesson as well, and then as desk work and consolidation I have made these worksheets as well.
In this set there are 7 different worksheets. There are 3 worksheets that just require the students to write a single word under the picture ( the pictures are cats, chicks and raccoons) and 3 worksheets that require students to write in full sentences. I have done this so you can give the same ”looking” worksheet to your students but if you want or need to differentiate you have the option. I have included a preposition word bank at the bottom of the worksheet to help if needed.
The 7th worksheet is a draw their own task, They have to read the sentence and then draw the picture in the empty box, this is to motivate the more artistic in the class, and, to add elements of reading and speaking rather than just writing as well. I actually like doing this one with my class the most.

They go horizontal across the top and the bottom and vertically along the sides.
When you ( or the students) cut out the dominoes make sure there is a picture AND a description on the domino ( dominoes have two sides)
Make sure the students know how to glue them as sometimes they will stick them all at the top.
Once they have finished, they can complete the centre part of the board and describe the jobs they can see and the job they would like to do. ( everyone says YouTuber!)
I will add a started version at the bottom to give a rubric of sorts. ( the board should be printed on A3 and the dominoes on A4. )
I love doing this activity, it can be totally self directed by the students and they really practice reading and comprehension skills from this. It is a whole class activity that can be done in groups, pairs or individual. I much prefer giving it as an individual task so students have their own work to present and take home.

This is the fully editable version so you are able to change it to suit your class and students.
I made some of the picture descriptions easy so some of the text in the pictures is also editable, if you want me to send through the others just drop me an email as well :P
This is a great little game for ESL, Kindergarten and Primary students. It follows a simplified version of the popular card game UNO, and so students are likely to be familiar with the rules and game-play. I will put the rules below just in case as well.
It can be used as Uno cards, or as matching cards but you will need to go through and collect the opposites together, or look for the opposites set i will be putting on the store in a few days.
This is the adjective version of the game, and there are 48 different words and pictures. There are multiple opposites and synonyms as well if you wanted to introduce those ideas to your class These can be used as simple flashcards, but i have also put a simple sentence on the front as well asking them to find a synonym as well. You can change this anyway you want.
I have also included a design for the back if you want them to look a little more professional again you can change this if you want to!

As mentioned in our blog post these can be a tricky concept for students to learn . So we have put together this flip-book and there are 5 plus versions and a template here for you to try. Simply print and cut to help students learn and practice word contractions in English.
The instructions on how to make are in the file, but it is fairly easy and your students should be able to work it out if you want to do this as a self directed task.
This is the non editable version so if you need or want to change the words to suit your lessons, classrooms and students consider buying the editable version its just a dollar and it supports the website!
Not every lesson needs a teacher at the front all the time. If you want to try a little self directed learning then this is a simple but fun and colourful set of board games that helps students sound out and practice Initial sounds, long vowels, and digraphs and blends. It is easy to print and fully editable so you can change it anyway you like. Just credit and link me if you link it in your website and lead people here :) This game as all the long vowel rimes, and phonics and blend sounds in it. So its great for consolidation and pair work as well.
Can be used as station learning or even whole class activities, and i will be uploading more versions to help with a differentiated learning environment as well.
