Simple Past tense is an English students first real exploration of English tense grammar. It enables them to start telling stories, and reading with greater understanding and fluency. Most early readers will introduce past tense very early. The earlier students become familiar with it there quicker their comprehension will improve.
What is Simple Past Tense?
The simple past tense form of a verb is used to describe an action that happened in the past. That point in time may or may not be known to the reader, unless quantified with an adverb or time. The two forms of simple past tense are: Regular which has teachable rules and irregular which does not.
